Steam Demon features a smooth black chlorobutyl rubber tube allowing it to withstand steam temperatures up to 230°C. Chlorobutyl rubber is less permeable to gases compared to other synthetic rubbers and when paired with its excellent heat resistant properties, it results in a steam hose with improved service life expectancy. Steam Demon can be crimped or clamped depending on user preference and application, making it the perfect steam hose for use in petrochemical plants, oil fields, shipyards, and other industrial applications.
Note: All steam hoses will last longer if they are drained after each use. Water that is left in steam hose tends to be absorbed into the tube compound. When the hose is rapidly reheated, the condensed moisture vaporizes in the rubber compound causing blistering of the tube. In general, steam hoses are not a substitute for steel piping and should not be used in manifold systems or any other permanent installation.
