The Lochinvar & A.O. Smith 100271569 Anode Rod is an electrochemical protection part used for water heaters. Ordinary one is made of magnesium or aluminum that reduce the flow of other undesirable compounds in the water from reacting with the inner layer of the water/heater tank. This sacrificial anode rod increases the life expectancy of the water/heater by minimizing the rust together with the deterioration of the tank. Suitable for residential and commercial water heating systems, its advantage is that it shields the tank from failure and enhances water/heater efficiency and reliability, thereby providing long-term cost efficiency.
