The Carrier P461-2901 is a significant Carrier furnace substitution part called a blower bearing. This ball bearing is approximately 3.8” long, 1.2” high and 8.5” wide and is used to minimize friction within the blower motor of your furnace. This enables the shaft to rotate with ease and with a lot of little friction. The ball bearing system reduces the contact between the rotating shaft and the housing thus enhancing motor efficiency. Due to the low friction, the bearing plays a role of minimizing noise produced by the blower motor hence making the heating process less noisy. Less friction and wear on the motor shaft mean that your furnace blower motor will last longer.
