Description
The Trane TRR1827 is a choke line transformer also known as a bell transformer, Used in various Trane HVAC systems. The main purpose of a choke-line transformer is to limit the current that flows in a circuit, rather than a conventional transformer’s ability to change voltage levels. It accomplishes this by operating its coil in an inductive reactance that increases with frequency. Doing this reduces the amount of current that the equipment’s initial surge of current during startup can cause, protecting delicate parts from possible damage.
