Description
The Carrier HN53CD208 is a 3-pole contactor, a heavy-duty relay used to switch on and off high current loads in HVAC equipment such as compressors. It controls the flow of electricity through a magnetic coil triggered by 208-240 volts. Contactors are different than regular on/off switches, they can handle larger currents and isolate the control circuit from the load circuit for safety. It is used with 50 or 60 Hz electrical systems. It has screw terminals for easy wire connection.
