Description
The Bedford 18-3872 is a compatible replacement for Graco parts 181726 and 181-726 — the male gland used in Graco spray equipment. The male gland is the nose-profiled ring that nests into the V-packing stack in the pump’s fluid section; paired with its female counterpart it keeps the packings compressed so they seal around the piston rod under pressure.
Common reasons for replacement:
- Grooving or corrosion on the gland face after long service
- Renewed along with new packings during a pump repack
- Fluid leaking past the packings even after tightening
- Pressure drop from a packing stack that no longer seats squarely
