Description
The Johnson Controls R-2080-1 Booster Relay is a pneumatic device that increases a low pressure control signal to a high pressure output. It essentially acts as a signal repeater with a 1:1 ratio. It works low pressure air signal from a controller is admitted into the pilot port. This pressure is applied on a diaphragm and this opens a valve through which high pressure supply air is directed towards the output. The output pressure equals the pilot pressure. This booster relay is applied to pneumatic HVAC control systems. Low-pressure controllers may not have sufficient power to directly drive some of the air valves or dampers.
